Red Bull UPside DOWN in Linz, AustriaSuunto’s technology was used to monitor the heart rates of the world’s 16 best Freestyle-Snowboarders and to display their every single heart beat in real time at the 40.000 LEDs of the Ars Electronica Center. But not only the heart rate of the athletes rose drastically during this breathtaking competition – also the pulse of 5.000 spectators increase significantly.

16 Freestyle-Snowboarders from all over the world declared Linz to the Austrian Snowboard-Mecca.

Suunto products in Red Bull UPside DOWNAll the riders wore the Suunto Comfort Belt during the competition and Suunto Team POD-antennas covered the whole arena. Thanks to the professional cooperation with ARS Electronica / Futurlab the signal of every heart beat illuminated 40.000 LEDs and turned the ARS building into a giant heart rate monitor.
