Suunto is joining forces with Strava, the online network connecting the global community of athletes. From April 28th, Suunto's Ambit watches can be used with Strava’s service, which lets members share and compare their GPS-tracked activities with friends.

SOFTWARE UPGRADE

 

SUUNTO LAUNCHES SOFTWARE UPGRADE 2.0 FOR AMBIT2, 2S and 2R

Suunto Ambit2, Ambit2 S, as well as the recently launched Ambit2 R got a software upgrade 2.0 on April 23rd. It brings usability improvements and new features for the watches including running cadence from the wrist, storm alarm and compass bearing tracking.

EXPLORING THE Z36 WRECK IN THE GULF OF FINLAND

Finnish diving group Badewanne give us a guided tour of the Zerstörer Z36, a German Destroyer that was lost when it struck mines in 1944. “It is a unique and eerie experience,” the group's Juha Flinkman tells us. “The wreck was once a powerful warship but now lays with her back broken on the seafloor. It's a dark and a lonely place.”

SISU CHALLENGE

 

COMPLETE THE SISU CHALLENGE ON STRAVA

To celebrate their partnership, Suunto and Strava are launching the Suunto Sisu Challenge. Inspired by the Finnish word for bravery and determination, the challenge is an invitation for Strava members to push their limits and run 65 km (40 miles) between May 17th and June 1st, 2014. Members who complete the challenge within the 16 day period will have the opportunity to buy an Ambit2 R, and receive a free Suunto heart rate belt and a three-month Strava Premium membership.
