Freeology Open Classic – an extract from Ant´s diary
We walked down to the beach to meet the small inflatables that take the
divers out to the competition platform and took the second boat out.
Ant was diver no.6, scheduled to dive at 8.55 am. The ride out to the
dive barge was choppy with a reasonable breeze blowing, so it looked as
if we might have a chop in the dive zone.
The dive boat was massive and teeming with officials, event staff,
safety scuba divers, freedivers and their teams.
From the moment the divers climb aboard they are counting down to their
official dive time (official top time) and the tension builds as each
new time count is announced. To relax and prepare for the dive is almost
