Discover new routes
Let the Suunto Movescount community help you explore. Use heatmaps to discover the most popular tracks for different sports. Break the routine and find new places to train in your own neighborhood or find where the locals train when you travel.
Create a route based on the heatmap and transfer it to your compatible Suunto watch to get navigation guidance during your training. You can also share an interesting heatmap with a friend via social media.
You can export any public routes in Movescount to your compatible Suunto GPS watch. Using the Map view, you can also import routes to Movescount from external sources, or create your own with the route planning tool. The route altitude profile updates as you draw the route on the Google or Mapbox map, making planning easy.
Once you selected or planned a route, check “Use this route in my (your watch)” box and save the route. The next time you sync your watch, the route appears under the route list in your watch.
Suunto GPS watches offer reliable navigation aids to help you get to your destination. Download routes to your watch from Suunto Movescount, and navigate them confidently with your watch. Some watches feature automatic breadcrumb trail that allows you to see your track and direction at all times. With Track back you can retrace your route at any point while recording an exercise with GPS.
If your Suunto watch has an altimeter, knowing your exact altitude will help you pin-point your location. When navigating a route that has altitude information, you can locate yourself on the route altitude profile in real time to see your ascent gain, remaining ascent and how many hills you have left on your route.
Point of Interest, or POI, is a special location, such as camping spot or vista along a trail that you can save and navigate to later. You can create POIs in Suunto Movescount, or in your Suunto GPS watch by saving your current location.
When out in the wild, your saved POI’s are conveniently available in your watch POI list and you can navigate to them at any time. The POI navigation has two views: POI view with direction indicator and distance to the POI, and a map view showing your current location relative to the POI and your breadcrumb trail (available in Traverse and Spartan watches).
You can categorize your POIs based on pre-defined types, and each POI type is illustrated with a small icon that helps identifying it in the navigation view. You can edit the names of your POIs in Suunto Movescount.
True to Suunto’s roots, all Suunto sports watches come with a digital compass with north indicator. It is an easy navigation aid in its own right, and fast to enable when you want to check if you are heading in the right direction.
In all Suunto GPS watches the digital compass also has a full tilt compensation and declination correction.
