The Traverse collection grows with two rugged watches
Suunto introduces two new models to the Suunto Traverse product family. Suunto Traverse Alpha Stealth and Alpha Foliage include new features specifically developed for fishing and hunting.
“Seeing the popularity of Suunto watches among fishermen and hunters and noting that very few watches in the market address their specific needs, we decided to reach out to them with a dedicated product. True to Suunto’s heritage, the Traverse Alpha watches combine rugged design with unique features such as shot detection to create the most advanced watch for fishing and hunting,” explains Petteri Hernelahti, Suunto Outdoor Business Line Manager.
Versatile outdoor functions
Traverse Alpha offers a trusted set of outdoor features. The integrated GPS/GLONASS route navigation with breadcrumb trail, electronic compass with tilt compensation and FusedAlti™ help you stay on track in unknown territory. Battery life of up to 100 hours with GPS makes the Traverse Alpha suitable for multiday treks.
Tools dedicated for fishing and hunting
The location-based moon phase calendar with moonrise and moonset times helps you determine the best time to put your fishing line in the water, while the barometric pressure graph keeps you up to date on weather changes. Automatic shot detection keeps track of the number and location of shots without distractions.
Use the fishing and hunting specific POI types to mark trails and important locations. Sunrise and sunset alerts help planning your day. If your adventure continues into the night, the customizable red backlight does not interfere night vision.
Rugged build, tested to military standards
Tested to the military standard MIL-STD- 810G, Suunto Traverse watches are built for action. Suunto Traverse Alpha takes durability a step further with the addition of a knurled stainless steel bezel, water repellent nylon strap and scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass.
As part of the Suunto Traverse family, the Alpha models come with activity tracking and are compatible with the Suunto App for Android and iPhone. Choose from two color alternatives: the black Traverse Alpha Stealth and grey-green Traverse Alpha Foliage. All Suunto Traverse watches are designed, built and tested in Finland. The Alpha models will be available in the US from April 19th and globally from April 29th.
