Germany's Tauchen dive magazine has chosen Suunto as the Best Dive Computer Manufacturer of 2006. The awarding took place in Düsseldorf at the international "Das Boot Show" at the end of January.

The jury including 30 dive professionals chose the winners for the "technical awards". Their criteria were based on the product quality, the innovation of the year 2006, product portfolios, as well as the quality of service and customer service.

Suunto was voted Diving Brand of the Year 2006 by the reader's of UK Diver Magazine. For the first time in 9 years the desired recognition went to a brand that is not a full range dive supplier.

Today's divers are conscious about the various options within diving. They want to know who they are dealing with, whether they have a good track record and whether they will provide good value. The recommendation is a key.

The consumer satisfaction has also led Suunto to altogether six positions for the places 1st to 3rd in the Product of the Year category during the last three years. "It has long been our ambition to get this award, despite Suunto being a specialist supplier, without the complete range of dive products." says John Sinclair, General Manager at Suunto Diving UK.

The vote was done by the readers of Diver Magazine, who were asked to name their favorite diving gear, diving brand, dive center and dive publication.
