Story

Me and my Background:

I try hard and do not give up easily. So I must be a great endurance runner? In addition to sports, I am interested in books, music and animals. I was born in Kajaani, but I have lived nearly my whole life in Oulu, in the Northern Finland. My education is a biochemist and at the moment I am doing research in the field of cancer biology and functional genomics.

I have taken an interest in aerobics for years and my favourite classes in health club are those with challenging choreography and fast tempo. However, my background in running is quite short. In the spring 2004, for the first time I went to try it out and participated in women ten kilometer playful race in Oulu, were I finished second. Though, it was not a real race, it was an uplifting moment and by that time I had trained running few times. From that moment I got excited with running for real. Next fall one of my friends, who runs marathons, persuaded me to run my first half marathon. Since then I have run few half marathons and couple of other races. From January 2007 I have had a trainer, who has been planning more diversed exercises for me. After three months in training, I was tenth in Finnish Championship in half marathon.

The Biggest Moment:

Life itself is bigger than anything, and the people you meet unexpectedly may become your friends for a lifetime. One of the most unforgettable moments of my life must be the evening I was proposed to marriage in Rome.

Suunto Experience:

My first Suunto experience is from 2005 when I got Suunto t6 as a christmas present from my husband. I was really positively surprised with the abilities of Suunto t6 and I have been very satisfied in using it ever since. After I have started training more intensively, Suunto t6 with Suunto Training Manager has become a powerfull tool to get the data out of workouts and races. Afterwards I have also got Suunto t4 which design I like very much.

Goals:

My aims are to improve myself as a runner, to run marathons but also other races, and to get to the Finland Champion level. My first marathon is going take place at year 2008.
