Suunto partners with ITU (International Triathlon Union) in Triathlon as the official timing and data partner of Dextro Energy Triathlon - ITU World Championship Series

The Dextro Energy Triathlon - ITU World Championship Series (WCS) kicked off on May 2, 2009 in Tongyeong, South Korea. After the series kick-off, Madrid will host round two on May 31st. This will be followed by Washington, D.C. on June 21st, Kitzbühel on July 11th, Hamburg on July 25th, London on August 15th and Yokohama on August 22nd. The grand final will be held on Australia's Gold Coast - on September 13th, 2009.

Suunto's technology will be integrated into the WCS events and television coverage. High performance data collected by Suunto from competing athletes will be displayed on screen as the race progresses. Data will be collected with the help of Suunto's Foot, Bike and GPS PODs coupled with a t6c heart rate monitors and it will include GPS, real-time speed and distance information and heart rate information.

Additionally, to mark the co-operation with the ITU, Suunto introduced its Triathlon collection - the Suunto t6c Red Arrow and the Suunto t3c Black Arrow heart rate monitors. The devices feature the tried and tested features of their forerunners Suunto t3c and Suunto t6c.

Among the favourites taking part in the eight-race series are Suunto Ambassadors Jan Frodeno (GER), Emma Snowsill (AUS), Javier Gomez (ESP), Daniel Unger (GER), Matt Reed (USA), Kate Allen (AUT) and Helen Jenkins (GBR).
