Measuring and analyzing the surrounding environment minimizes the risk involved in moving around the mountains, whether on or off piste. Information on your skiing or snowboarding performance, on the other hand, provides you with knowledge necessary to improve your riding.
In addition to having information available to you at all times on the slopes, the Suunto S6 records and stores data for later analysis. You can view, compare, and analyze your riding performance through a specially designed PC interface.

Suunto S6 keeps track of your skiing and snowboarding action and provides you with means to make rational decisions, both in the secure environment of the slopes and when riding in the vast powder of the backcountry.
The combination of altimeter and clinometer enables you to measure your speed. The skichrono gives you information on the total number of runs, their altitude profile, real-time accumulated descent values, as well as the maximum and average speed of runs.
Knowing your altitude, ascent/descent rate, compass bearing, weather trends, barometric pressure, and the degree of slopes enables you to make safe and responsible decisions, particularly when riding in the mountains.
Suunto S6 is not only an essential tool for backcountry riding, but it is also a great analyst and indicator of your progress on the slopes.
When moving around the mountains, safety comes first Suunto S6 comes packed with solutions enabling safe and responsible riding. You can use the alarm functions to alert you at certain altitudes, warn of overly rapid ascent, or indicate an upcoming storm. You will be much better off using the compass and altimeter if caught in bad weather. And you can assess avalanche danger with the clinometer, if needed.
