Suunto S-Lander

Dressed-Up Vertical and Weather Instrument for Skiing and Snowboarding

Suunto S-Lander combines an altimeter, barometer, watch and stopwatch providing you with information on the real time altitude, the number of runs skied, the current barometric pressure and temperature.

It features an altitude difference measurement function for following vertical progress between stages. The logbook keeps record on the total and cumulative vertical ascents and descents, as well as the number of runs. It also displaysbarometric pressure and temperature and automatically stores data for the past four days. In addition to common chronograph functions, Suunto S-Lander also includes a calendar, alarm functions, dual time and an electro-luminescent backlight for dimly lit conditions.

The one-button fast access to view the number of runs during the day maximizes the user friendliness of the Suunto S-Lander. The automatic 24-hour memory stores information on altitude and the ascent/descent rate for every hour. The Suunto S-Lander also shows the present sea-level pressure.

The Suunto S-Lander and its barometric functions provide you with valuable information for forecasting the weather changes. Information on the present sea level pressure helps you read and understand the barometric pressure at high altitudes.

Deeper Understanding

Keeping track of your skiing and snowboarding action provides you with means to make rational decisions, both in the secure environment of the slopes and when riding in the vast powder of the backcountry.

Knowing your altitude, ascent/descent rate, weather trends and barometric pressure enables you to make safe and responsible decisions, particularly when riding in the mountains.

Moving safely around the mountains, especially in previously unexplored areas, requires knowledge and experience. Suunto S-Lander provides you with information about the surrounding environment that supports your knowledge and enables making safe and responsible decisions.

You can use the alarm function to alert you at certain altitudes. Knowing the current barometric pressure and temperature, helps in forecasting weather changes. Using the weather functions of the Suunto S-Lander, gives you the advantage of knowing when it is time to seek shelter.

The S-Lander automatically records barometric data for the past four days: the first six hours in one-hour intervals and after that in six-hour intervals. When the reference altitude is correctly set, the instrument also shows the present sea level pressure, which makes it easier to read and understand the barometric pressure at high altitudes.
