Amelie Kober, born in Bavaria, is the shooting star of the German snowboard race scene.
In the Olympic Games 2006 Amelie won surprisingly the Silver medal in the parallel giant slalom - and what is more she was the youngest competitor in the race. Not even a fall during the first run of the quarter finals could stop Amelie in her medal winning run, determined she caught up with her competitor in that duel.
Her "fabulous destiny" began actually already in October 2005 when she placed second in the World Cup in Sölden, Austria and achieved a position in the Olympic team prematurely. Already at the age of 17, during her first World Cup season (2004/2005), the ambitious Amelie achieved repeatedly top10 positions. She is also two times vice Junior World Champion.
Her goals for the years to come are clear: she would like to establish herself in the World Cup Team through solid performance. Additionally, she intends to qualify for the World Championships 2007 in Arosa and the Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver.

I am using the Suunto X6HR as it is the perfect device for workouts and outdoor sports. It offers reliable information for all the different situations that I am facing throughout the season:
Workout: I analyse heart rate vs. altitude
Snowboard training: I record all my snowboard runs and know how many vertical meters I have made.
Off-Piste: Compass, temperature & clinometer help me to find my way and judge avalanche danger.
And finally - it's a cool watch ;-)
