Mountain-X Race on July 2nd to 7th

Suunto has been sponsoring various Adventure Racing teams, athletes, and some events over the years, and has made great strides towards becoming the "world's most desired sports instrument brand" among the outdoor enthusiasts.

We are proud to be a Saab-Salomon partner in the Mountain-X Race, a brand new outdoor racing competition taking place in the number 1 outdoor region in Europe, the Savoie Mont Blanc, France, on July 2nd to 7th. The Race fits perfectly with both Suunto's outdoor and training categories and their concepts of "outdoor adventure lifestyle" and "more than heart rate monitors". We aim to express our passion for outdoor sports, reach both the hard core top athletes competing in the Race as well as the Race audience, and generate communication content.

With genuine outdoor products providing real benefits to the users, Suunto wants to be present and visible in the outdoor market among all the enthusiasts and top adventure talents. During and preparing for the 5 race days with 5 different sports as well as trail running each day, the contestants will benefit from using various Suunto sports instruments: from the basic Suunto field compasses for orientation to the Outdoor icon, the Suunto Vector, for altitude, barometer, and direction information and the different Suunto heart rate monitors for optimizing their physical performances and following speed and distance.

The Suunto Vector, Suunto X6HR, Suunto t6, and Suunto GPS POD are models widely used by adventure racers due to their numerous benefits such as accurate air pressure and altitude measurements, weather change predictions, direction via digital compass, versatile heart rate measurements, speed and distance, and of course, time.

Suunto X6HR is the ultimate adventure racing companion - a combined heart rate monitor, altimeter, and compass - a perfect tool for endurance athletes who want to improve their training. Measuring and analyzing the surrounding environment minimizes the risks involved in traveling in unknown terrain.

Suunto t6 heart rate monitor helps you maximize the training effect of every workout - and competition - with a detailed analysis of seven different body parameters including heart rate, energy consumption, ventilation, oxygen consumption, respiratory rate, Training Effect, and EPOC, as well as with optional speed and distance information. The Suunto GPS POD employs the Global Positioning System to track speed and distance across a wide variety of outdoor activities. Waterproof to one meter, it works with all POD-compatible Suunto heart rate monitors.

Alejandro Díaz de la Peña, a Spanish cross country biker, says: "Every year the number of races I compete in is increasing. So it is very important to exactly know when you need to recover and when to train hard in order to have the best possible fitness for every race. Suunto t6 with the unique EPOC value in combination with speed, distance & altitude really helps me a lot in making those decisions."
