| Suunto Training Manager Story |
Suunto Training Manager software offers an exciting new tool for viewing recorded data for all sports enthusiasts. It is designed to enhance the functionality of your Suunto t6 by providing you with a means of transferring data to your PC where it can be analyzed in more detail. The heart rate analysis of the software is based on the calculation model developed by Firstbeat Technologies Ltd. The analysis results offer a deeper understanding how the training effects your body. They also allow you to analyze the relationship between altitude and the seven body parameters.
Athletes can view their performance over a single workout or a specific period of time, with a detailed analysis of seven different body parameters including:
Heart Rate
EPOC (Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption, ml/kg)
EPOC based Training Effect (1-5 scale describing the result of the cumulative aerobic load of the training session)
Respiration Rate (breaths per minute)
Respiration Volume (liters/minute)
Oxygen Consumption (VO2, ml/kg/min.)
Energy Expenditure (kcal)
Equipped with a Suunto Foot, GPS, Bike and/or Cadence POD, the program allows Suunto t6 users to evaluate their performance in terms of:
speed
distance
cadence
altitude

| Problems with Suunto Training Manager |
After updating the Windows XP with the security patch from Microsoft (released April 3, 2007) the Suunto Training Manager software will no longer run. Instead the following error message box appears:
"The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly.
The relocation occurred because the dll c:\windows\system32\hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for Windows System DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL."
"Hotfix" solution
Microsoft has issued a "hotfix" for this, which can be downloaded from their knowledgebase article 935448.
The link is: support.microsoft.com/kb/935448/en-us
Please, remember to choose the same language for the installed fix as you have for your Windows, otherwise the installation will fail.
