Suunto DS Series Dry Suits are the culmination of years of experience and product development in sailing apparel and diving dry suits. For the first time in the history of sailing, this breakthrough innovation allows sailors to combine the various elements of their foul weather wardrobe into one single-suit system. The patented horizontal zipper and sealing system allow you to wear the trousers and smock as normal foul weather gear for maximum comfort. When conditions take a turn for the worse, however, simply zipping the jacket and trousers together turns the gear into a dry suit that provides maximum dryness, even when immersed in water. The three models in the series; Suunto DS9, Suunto DS6, and Suunto DS3, are all designed to keep sailors warm and dry in any conditions, whether in coastal regattas or extreme ocean competition, so that they can focus on enjoying their sailing.

Deeper Understanding

This breakthrough innovation was made possible by Suunto's patented horizontal zipper and sealing design. The new type of plastic molded zipper creates a comfort level that is in a class of it's own. The waterproof zipper opens and closes with ease, is UV protected and withstands pressure of up to 1.7 bar.

All suits in the series are made of Gore-Tex or highly breathable X-Tex, and have 100% taped seams. The suits are all CE approved and are delivered in a Suunto bag with individual suit identification and owner information.

Suunto DS Series Dry Suits are available in seven sizes and are designed with maximum protection from the elements, comfort, and mobility in mind. When the weather is not severe, the gear can be worn separately, unzipped. If conditions get worse, however, it is quick and easy to join the trousers and smock into a dry suit that offers unparalleled sailing protection.

All trousers feature easy-fitting Gore-Tex or X-Tex socks that allow the use of different types of sailing boots. The trousers are fitted with durable Cordura knee and seat patches for comfort and abrasion protection. Together with reflective ankle cuffs and a low opening zipper for answering calls of nature, these features make the Suunto DS Series trousers second to none.

The smocks in the Suunto DS Series all have articulated hems arms for maximum maneuverability, and a patented zipper hem design that allows free movement of the smock hem over the trousers for added comfort and mobility. All smocks have a front panel with large, self-draining pockets and large triangular reflectors on the back. Maximum dryness is provided by 2.5mm Superstrech neoprene neck seals (cut to size for increased comfort) and 2.5mm Superstrech neoprene wrist seals. Adjustable outer cuffs, with reflectors, are dimensioned to facilitate the use of long-armed gloves.

In addition to these qualities, which are standard throughout the series, Suunto DS9 and Suunto DS6 also have several additional features. All suits can be enhanced by the 3mm neoprene hood and five-fingered gloves, which are available as accessories.
