Which Suunto products are you using?

The Suunto t6d heart rate monitor, Foot POD, and Road Bike POD.

What’s the best thing about your Suunto?

During the season one has to train, that is no secret. I put in some 1000 hours and some 520,000 meters of altitude gain. The best thing about my Suunto is that I don’t have to worry about keeping track of it all; I can just listen to my music and free my mind while my t6d watch keeps track of all my moves.

Most memorable sporting moment?

Each moment is magic and I can’t choose among all those experiences.

Story

One day at the 2008 163K Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, a slender lad in his early 20s emerged to defeat the world’s best trail runners on a course they had been running for years. This would be the first of four consecutive Skyrunner World Series titles.

Enter Kílian Jornet, a 24-year old running revelation who shatters every record he finds.

Jornet was raised on a mountainside in the Catalonian Pyrenees. With a childhood that consisted of hiking through forests and climbing rocks, the youngster soon emerged as one of the top ski mountaineering competitors in his teens.

One of the most remarkable things about Jornet is his versatility as an athlete and the Catalan doesn’t only dominant in one discipline. He is equally comfortable in sprint races, steep grades and ultra distance events, an unbelievable range that’s unheard of in running. Just look at his rapidly growing list of records across a number of disciplines. Jornet is a new-age trailblazer that is rapidly changing the way people view running.
