Ogden, UT—July 15, 2010- Suunto U.S.A. is proud to welcome a new member to its leadership team. With experience in and a passion for the sports and outdoor industries, Nora Stowell comes to Suunto as Vice President and Business Director
Stowell comes to Suunto with a proven track record in the sporting goods industry, as Director of Apparel and Gear at Salomon U.S.A., an Amer brand also located in the Amer Sports Winter and Outdoor Headquarters in Ogden, UT. Since 2008, Stowell worked to reposition Salomon’s brand and make it more relevant to dealers and consumers.
As V.P. and Business Director of Suunto U.S.A., Stowell will develop a business strategy specific to the US as well as play a key role with Suunto Finland in developing and executing a global plan for the brand. Stowell will help to identify industry trends, assess opportunities and expand Suunto’s position in relevant markets.

Stowell began her career at Boulder Gear Ski and Snowboard Apparel, working her way up to Sales & Marketing Director. She then joined New Balance as a Sales Planning Manager, where she played an integral role in the business plan development and implemented programs to reduce excess inventory levels. Prior to joining the ASWO team, Stowell was the Division Manager for Völkl Performance Wear – pioneering the brand and managing the business in the U.S.
In addition to her extensive knowledge within the sporting goods industry, Stowell also brings a personal passion for outdoor sports to the job. In college, she was captain of the Dartmouth Women’s Alpine Ski Team, earning a coveted award for being inspirational. Stowell also is an avid Nordic skier, cyclist, runner and hiker.
