Suunto Kailash software update 1.5.4, January 2016

The 1.5.4 software update for Kailash watches brings general enhancements and a new high power mode that enables shorter GPS recording rate, more accurate navigation view and altitude information and faster time zone updates.

Exploring with high power GPS

Suunto Kailash checks your location every 10 minutes to update your time, position, and 7R statistics. In normal day-to-day use, this interval is enough to provide you good travel details while maximizing battery life.

There are occasions, however, when you may want even more specific details, such as going out for the evening in a new city or hiking in the local national park. The exploration mode uses high power GPS to give you a more precise track for navigating parks and city streets, as well as increases the accuracy of your 7R statistics.

When exploration mode is activated your watch checks GPS-data every second for the first 15 minutes, then it switches to checking once per minute for up to eight hours. To activate the exploration mode, simply keep the 7R button pressed. A GPS-signal icon at the top of the display indicates exploration mode is active.

For detailed instructions on how to use the high power GPS in exploration mode, see the Kailash user guide, chapter 3.9.

Make sure you have the latest version of SuuntoLink in order to receive the update.

Updates to the 7R App for iPhone are delivered via App Store either automatically or as desired.
