We have become aware of compatibility issues with DM5 and SuuntoLink and the latest macOS update, Big Sur. We are working on a solution, but until we have a fix, we recommend not updating the newest macOS if you need to use DM5 or SuuntoLink with your dive computer shortly.
Update: If you have an EON Steel or Core device or a Suunto D5, you can sync your dive logs via SuuntoLink to the Suunto app. Additionally, with an initial fix released for DM5 (version 220.127.116.111), we solved the compatibility issue and it will work on macOS Big Sur. Nevertheless, the program cannot open and DM5 cannot complete the automatic update successfully. What you need to do for DM5 to work again with your Suunto EON Steel and Core and Suunto D5:
How to get the latest version of DM5:
- Uninstall the current version of DM5 you have installed on your computer. Go to Applications and drag Suunto DM5 to the Trash and empty the Bin. You can read more about how to delete apps on your Mac machine here.
- Click here to get started with the new DM5 version. Choose to download DM5 for Mac and go through the installation process.
- You can now run the new DM5 version on your computer!
Note: in this release, the other devices will not be detected by DM5. The dive logs will not be downloaded, nor will the settings be updated. We are working on a second release that will fix the issue.
