Arctic Lines with Antti Autti

After years of travelling the world for contests and video shoots Finnish snowboarder Antti Autti is shifting his focus to what's close to his home. With the vast wilds of northern Finland, Sweden and Norway as his playground and sustainability as a core value, he enters his new mission: Arctic Lines. The goal is to hike and ride 30 iconic backcountry lines north of the Arctic Circle. Antti and crew will be up against the harsh Arctic elements from the cold mid-winter polar night to the newer setting sun of the summer, and won't know what they're in for until they approach each project. Tune in to watch them explore the breathtaking wilds of Scandinavia's north.

Backcountry skiing and snowboarding with Suunto

Plan ahead – or on the go

Plan your routes on the go with Suunto app. You can draw the route from scratch, see popular trails and trailheads on Suunto heatmap or import routes from Suunto compatible partner services or as GPX files.

Be ready for that Alpine start

Heading out on dawn patrol and want to catch the first sunlight or trying to make it back before dusk? Suunto 9 Baro provides you with crucial information like sunrise and sunset times, barometric trends and storm alarms.

Navigate with route, altitude profile and more

When navigating a pre-planned route, you will also have access to the route altitude profile to easily see how much you still have to the top. You can also add waypoints to have a better view of what’s ahead.

Navigate like Hansel and Gretel

You don’t need a pre-planned route to navigate; as you track your activity, your Suunto automatically draws a breadcrumb trail, the path you have traveled. Ski down an awesome tree run and, at the bottom, easily find your way back to the skin track for another lap.

Know your location

The SuuntoPlus Safety feature gives you quick access to your GPS coordinates and other essential information of your current location as well as your starting point. The data can be handy when navigating back to your car – or if you need to radio for help.

Pace your efforts

Heart rate data is not only for athletic training. Out in the mountains you can use it to pace your efforts so you will have a safe and successful tour. Another key metric for pacing your uphills is your vertical speed. Can I sustain this level of effort the entire route?

Mark – and find – the important spots

Mark points of interest on Suunto app or as you go – and navigate back to them. POIs are useful for marking places that you don’t want to miss. Mark the hut that offers shelter, the bridge that crosses that raging river or the entry to your dream couloir!

Navigate like a pro

Precise and durable Suunto MC-2 mirror compass works globally and is a valuable tool for navigation, pinpointing your exact location and also for measuring slope angles out in the mountains and based on contour lines on a map.

Save your memories

Tracking your adventures with a Suunto helps you save great memories in Suunto app. Enhance the activity with photos, notes, and even weather data automatically using Klimat. You can then search for your notes to find those peak moments.

Share the fun

You can share your Suunto app activities as data overlay images or sync them automatically to our partner services, like FATMAP and Strava. On FATMAP you can see where you’ve been on a 3D map and can use their sophisticated terrain tools and more.

Explore your own paths with MyTracks

Explore your own paths on a map using MyTracks in Suunto app and see summaries of your activities in your diary. See where that good powder bowl was? Which line did I take? What’s my total ascent this year? It’s all there in Suunto app.

Suunto 9 Baro

When you have your mind set on a goal or adventure, you want to make sure your watch can also go the distance. With up to 120 hours of continuous exercise tracking, Suunto 9 is built to last – just like you!
