If my Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitter or Suunto Tank POD product is working fine, should I still send it in for inspection and upgrade?
Yes. Suunto advises its end customers to have their product inspected and upgraded by a service center and discontinue the use of the product until such inspection has taken place.
Can I dive with my Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitter or Suunto Tank POD before it has been inspected?
No.
How do I get my Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitter or Suunto Tank POD product inspected?
Bring your product to an authrorized Suunto dive dealer or Suunto Authorized Service Center for an inspection at no cost. Alternatively, you can also use Suunto Online Service Request, (where available) to get your product picked up and delivered for the inspection.
We will also change the battery of your device free of charge in connection with the process .You will also receive a one year warranty from the date of the inspection of the affected product. For the warranty, you will need to register your product at www.suunto.com/register.
Can I bring the product for inspection back to where I purchased it from?
Yes. Your authorized Suunto dive dealer will deliver your product to a service center for the inspection.
Do I need to get approval from the store I purchased the product from to send my product for inspection?
No.
I do not have a receipt for my product. Can I still get it inspected?
Yes. No receipt is needed.
Can I inspect the product myself?
No. The product needs to be inspected by an Suunto authorized Service Center.
Which dive computers are the Suunto Transmitters and Suunto Tank PODs compatible with?
Suunto Wireless Tank Pressure Transmitter is compatible with Suunto dive computers:, D4i, D4i Novo, D6i, D6i Novo, D9, D9tx, DX, Vytec, Vytec DS, HelO2, Vyper Air, Vyper Novo. Suunto Tank POD is compatible with the Suunto EON Steel, Suunto EON Core and Suunto D5 dive computers.
Should I also bring the compatible Suunto dive computer with me when I return my Suunto transmitter or Suunto Tank POD for inspection?
No.
What will happen in the inspection and upgrade?
During the inspection, products will be opened and inspected. The battery as well as the o-rings for water sealing will be replaced. The plastic case of the product will also be replaced.
You will receive two additional safety parts; one of which must be added to your Transmitter or Tank POD depending on if connected through a high pressure hose or directly to the first stage. This is in order to minimize the amount of pressurized air inside the product.
Detailed safety instructions will be provided.
After the upgrade the products will be marked with small circle mark indicating the products are safe to use.
