Terms and Conditions for Strava Challenge
This Suunto Run 5K Strava Challenge (the “Challenge”) is open to entrants aged 18+ only. The Challenge opens at 00.01hrs on 09.08.2025 and closes at 23.59hrs on 17.08.2025. Entrants who complete the challenge (the “Finishers”) will each have a chance to win a Suunto Run GPS watch. By participating in the Challenge, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the full terms and conditions.
1. General Terms
By participating in the Challenge (“Challenge”) you accept these Terms. Please read these Terms carefully before participating. If you do not agree to the Terms, you may not participate in the Challenge.
These Terms govern the relationship between you (“you” or the “Participant”) and Suunto Oy, Finnish organization number 0101084-1, Tammiston kauppatie 7 A, 01510 Vantaa, Finland, tel. +358 9 875 870 ("Organizer") in relation to the Challenge. Questions and feedback about the Challenge may be brought to the attention of Organizer through the aforementioned contact details.
The Challenge begins on 9th August 2025 at 00.01 EET and ends on 17th August 2025 at 23.59 EET (“Challenge Period”).
The Challenge promotes Suunto Run GPS watch.
2. Right to Participate
The Challenge is open to individuals who are legal residents of The United States and the District of Columbia, Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Japan, Austria, Poland, Latvia and South Korea (“Territory”) who are at least 18 years old or over the age of majority in their jurisdiction of permanent residence, whichever is greater on the start date of the Challenge Period. However, and despite the aforesaid, in the event the legislation of your home country does not allow this kind of Challenge, you are not allowed to participate. This Challenge is void where prohibited.
The Organizer may require winners to certify their eligibility to participate in the Challenge.
Employees, representatives and agents of the Organizer or those of any of its affiliates, as well as the immediate family (defined as parents, siblings, children and spouses, regardless of where they live) or households (whether or not related) of such employees, representatives and agents and anyone otherwise connected with the operation or fulfillment of the Challenge, are not eligible to participate in the Challenges. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Any illegible entries will be held void and Organizer reserves the right to verify the eligibility of winners.
3. Instructions for Participation
The Challenge invites Strava members to complete 5 kilometers of recorded running, wheelchair riding, or virtual running within the challenge period. All Finishers are given the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win one of five Suunto Run GPS watches by submitting their email address at Suunto.com and opting in to accepting Suunto’s Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions and marketing communications.
Entry to the Challenge is available upon use of Strava. The Challenge starts and ends based on the aforementioned Challenge Period, Participants are encouraged to convert these times to the local time zones to ensure timely participation. Manual entries, or activities marked “Private” will not count towards your challenge effort. All activities logged during the Challenge Period must be uploaded to Strava no later than 20 August 2025 at 23:59 EET.
Incomplete, corrupted, or untimely entries are void and will be disqualified. Additionally, any illegible or fraudulent entries will be rejected. If you enter or attempt to enter the Challenge in violation of these Terms or in a manner that is otherwise unfair to other Participants, you may be rejected from the Challenge at the Organizer's sole discretion.
No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed, damaged, corrupted, illegible or incomplete entry forms, which shall be disqualified at the discretion of the Organizer, or for transmission or computer error affecting the logging of entry forms. Proof of joining will not be accepted as proof of delivery.
4. Selection of Winner
The winners of the Challenge will be determined on 2 September 2025 at 10:00 EET at Suunto Oy, Tammiston kauppatie 7 A, 01510 Vantaa, Finland.
The winners will be chosen among the Finishers of the Challenge at random.
The odds of winning any prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the entry period.
The winners will be notified no later than on 3 September 2025 at 23:59 EET directly by the Organizer viaby e-mail message. The prizes will be delivered to the winners by 30 September 2025.
If a winner cannot be reached within seven (7) business days as of the date on which the Organizer first attempted to reach the winner, or if the Organizer has reasonable grounds for believing that an entrant has contravened any of these Terms, the initial winner will be considered to have forfeited the right to the prize and the Organizer is entitled to select another winner. The Organizer’s decision(s) are final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
5. Prizes
The total number of prizes awarded in the Challenge are five (5) Suunto Run GPS watches.
The value of one Suunto Run GPS watch is 249 EUR.
In order to enter the raffle Finishers must enter their email address into the reward form to receive Suunto’s email newsletter and accept Suunto’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Subscribers of Suunto’s email newsletter can unsubscribe at any point thereafter.
The Prize is personal, non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available, except if the prize (or any part thereof) becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Organizer's control, in which case Organizer may offer an alternative prize of equal or greater monetary value. To the extent not prohibited under applicable mandatory law, you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes relating to your receipt and/or use of the prize, if applicable. The Organizer will give notifications to tax authorities and pay any taxes that it is obliged to pay in accordance with applicable mandatory law.
Unless otherwise provided under applicable mandatory law or expressly stated in writing in connection with the distribution of the prize, the prize is awarded on an "as is" basis and the Organizer, nor any of its affiliates, makes any representations or warranties of any nature with respect to the prize.
6.Liability
Applicable to all Territory other than Germany
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or in any way limit the Organizer’s liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by the Organizer’s negligence or any other liability to the extent the same may not be excluded or limited as a matter of law. Some jurisdictions may not permit limitations of certain rights, claims, implied warranties or types of damages. Some of the following limitations may, therefore, not apply to you.
Subject to previous section, the following shall apply. To the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law, by participating in the Challenge, you agree to release the Organizer and its affiliates from any and all liability arising in any manner out of the Challenge including, without limitation, the selection of the winner, the administration of the Challenge, and the acceptance or the use of the prize or any component thereof as well as to indemnify and hold the Organizer and its affiliates harmless from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs or expenses arising from, or attributable to, any of your acts or omissions relating to the Challenge. Except in the event of gross negligence or willful misconduct, the Organizer's and/or its affiliates' liability will in any case be limited to the value of the prize to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law.
Applicable to Germany
Organizer or its affiliates are liable for claims for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health or from the violation of essential contractual obligations as well as liability for other damages arising from an intentional, fraudulent or grossly negligent breach of duty of Organizer or its affiliates. In other cases in which damages result from slight negligence, the Organizer's and/or its affiliates' liability will be limited to the value of the prize to the extent permitted by applicable mandatory law. In all other cases, the Organizer's liability is excluded.
The Challenge is in no way sponsored by Strava. You hereby agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Strava from any liability in connection with the Challenge.
7. Dispute Resolution
Applicable to all Territory other than the Netherlands
To the extent not prohibited under applicable mandatory law, these Terms shall be governed by the laws of Finland.
If a dispute, conflict or controversy arising out of, or in connection with this Challenge, cannot be resolved through negotiation between the parties, the consumer can submit the matter for resolution to a dispute resolution body, e.g. to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariita.fi) or to a competent national dispute resolution body. Ultimately, any dispute shall be brought before the District Court of Helsinki, Finland for resolution, unless prohibited under applicable mandatory law.
Applicable to the Netherlands
Complaints about the Challenge may be brought to the attention of Organizer through the following email address: community@suunto.com. If a complaint is not resolved to the satisfaction of the complainant, the complainant may submit his or her complaint in writing to: De kansspelautoriteit, Postbus 298, 2501 CG Den Haag.
8. Personal Data
To the extent not prohibited under applicable mandatory law, by participating in the Challenge, you agree that any personal data submitted in connection with the Challenge is registered and processed in accordance with the Organizer's Privacy Policy, available at https://www.suunto.com/Privacy-Policy/
Applicable to France
The data controller is the Organizer. The personal data will be used to (a) verify the eligibility of the potential winner; and (b) contact the potential winner and allocate the prize. Entrants have a right of access to modification and withdrawal of their personal data and they have the right to set the consequences of their death on their personal data. They may also have the right of opposition to the data collection, under certain circumstances. The duration of the retention of the data is done under applicable mandatory law. The recipient of the data is the Organizer.
