Dear Suunto community,
Being confined indoors isn't easy for us adventure types. Enjoying the outdoors is what we live for, and few of us could have guessed a month ago that such a basic thing could suddenly seem so distant. The rapid spread of the COVID-19, however, means we all need to do our part to slow its spread so our healthcare systems cope and our most vulnerable citizens are protected. Now is the time to remember the big picture and to prioritise the welfare of others.
We encourage everyone in our community to stay safe and contribute to fighting the virus by following social distancing measures and to remain at home as much as possible until authorities say otherwise. All of Suunto's office employees are now working from home, and our manufacturing staff are following strict hygiene and safety protocols. We must stop the spread.
This sudden change to our way of life won't last forever. It too will pass. In the meantime, we can use the spare time we may have to take good care of ourselves and our loved ones by eating well, maintaining our fitness by training indoors, getting more sleep, calling friends and family to see if they are okay, and connecting with the community on Suunto app.
If we can ascend the highest mountains, and run ultra marathons, we can certainly make the most of this temporary situation for the greater good. Lets do it!
