What type of files can I import to the Suunto app?

The Suunto app is a versatile app that allows you to import and export information and connect with partner services to access all the training communities you might belong to. You can easily import route and navigation information from any routing service in a GPX format.

Types of files:
  1. Import a route as a GPX file:

Note: It is not currently possible to import a workout file from another app in Suunto app natively. You can however use a partner service (such as for example RunGap or Fitnesssyncer) to import the data, or manually add the information recorded with non-suunto devices. Check our partners page for more information.

How to import a route:

In the following articles, you can find step-by-step instructions on how to import a GPX route for iOS and for Android.

  1. Go to the map view in the Suunto app and tap the plus symbol available on the screen.
  2. You will have the possibility to import a GPX route of your choice from your device. Tap the route and open it in the Suunto app.
  3. Edit the route further (if needed), save it and sync it to your watch.

Note: For more information about editing routes and the possibilities you have with the Suunto app, check the following article for iOS and Android and this video
