2. Pack your stuff
Set the direction on your watch or compass, and follow it, wherever it leads you.
3. Head in that direction for 2/12/24 hours
Example: You start in the morning and end the next morning. You don’t need to push through the night: sleeping outside is highly recommended!

Bearing navigation is an essential part of using a compass. In addition to using a mechanical hiking compass, like Suunto A-30, you can do bearing navigation with a Suunto GPS watch. Set the direction, distance and altitude and your watch will guide you there!
